The official 1.0 FAQ says Tetramon is built for NPC opponents and has no near-term multiplayer plans. The Steam listing identifies the game as single-player.
What NPC duels mean
The customer waiting at a play table is an in-game opponent. Personal participation in a tournament is also not the same thing as online competitive matchmaking.

Check mod claims separately
Before following a co-op tutorial, identify the exact mod, its original author, supported platform and supported game build. A feature shown in a modified PC installation should not be promised to console players.

Cross-save is a different question
